Katy Miller

Katy is department head for Learning Engagement at UCF Libraries. In this role, she leads a team of nine dynamic faculty members who provide research and instruction support on both UCF’s main campus and local area community colleges. The department also champions engagement activities for all UCF students.   

Katy holds a Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Memphis. Prior to leading the department, she served as UCF’s Textbook Affordability librarian. Before joining UCF Libraries, she worked at Valencia College as a Library Director for the Winter Park Campus and Project Director for a 2.6-million-dollar Title V HSI grant. Before moving to academic libraries, Katy worked in advertising, financial services, and journalism special libraries. Her areas of interest are information literacy, student engagement, and online learning.
